Zamfara Govt. Closes All Schools Over More Abduction Of School Children

Suspected bandits have abducted scores of students from Kaya Day Secondary School, in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Bandits Abduct More School Children in Zamfara State

The bandits were said to have invaded the school Wednesday morning, at about 11am and took away the students to an unknown location.

Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State is where Govermor Bello Mohammed hails from.

Sources said, the bandits stormed the school on motorcycles, shooting sporadically to scare people away before they abducted the students and some teachers from the school.

The locals said, over 100 students were abducted.

The Zamfara State Police command in a statement says All Schools Remain Closed And Dusk-to-Dawn Curfew in place from 6PM to 6AM

The abduction is coming barely a week after the abducted students and staff of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science were released by their abductors.

The state government also said it had rolled out what it called, proactive security measures, aimed at flush out the criminal elements and to restore peace in the state.
