PARTY CARPET CROSSING: Five Lawmakers Move To PDP As Hundreds Join PDP in Rivers

Five serving members of the Nigeria’s House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) have crossed carpet to the APC.

Six other former legislators including a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly also switched their allegiance to the APC.

Present at the events where the Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Gandoje, his counterpart from Kebbi State, Atiku Abubarka Bagudu and the Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.

Others were the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello and the Governor of IMO State, Hope Uzodinma who is also Chairman, APC campaign for the Anambra Governorship election.

Notable among those who dumped the PDP and defected to APC is a serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu, who represents Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency

Meanwhile Reaction’s have continued to trail the defection of some members of the all progressives Congress APC to the ruling people’s democratic party PDP in Rivers State.

Some of the decampees at the defection ground told ait that they left the APC because their aspirations were far from been met by their former Party.

While starwalts of the PDP say the latest defection signaled the end of opposition in Rivers State, the APC Chaiman of the Caretaker committee ,Abbot Ogbobula says most of the defectors are of no value to the present APC.

The gale of defections between the two major political parties in Rivers State got to its crescendo according to a stalwart of the PDP who described the defection as the end of opposition in Rivers State.

Some of the latest defectors, include the former spokesperson of the party ,Ogbonna attributed their romance with the PDP to lack of internal democracy in the APC.
