The Oba of Benin, Oba Palace, King’s Square, Benin City.

Your Majesty,

I regret to inform you that my father Sir Victor Uwaifo passed away on the 28th of August 2021. He passed on due to a little illness, despite the fact that he recently spent his 80th birthday surrounded by his friends and family at home on 1st of March 2021.

I would be grateful your highness, if you could suspend every burial arrangements done by the family without my acknowledgement and consent, in order to plan my late father’s burial appropriately according to our tradition and custom which requires the presence of the first male child.
I hope by God’s grace to arrive the country soonest so I can be physically present to engage with family and well wishers.

I’m so sorry to have to bring you this sad news and hope to be able to speak to you about happier events, the next time I write.

Long live the king!
