Two of those invited for the peace walk by the Lagos state Governor, comedian Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni and Folarin Falana, known commonly as Falz have declined participation
In a message on his Twitter handle, the comedian instead advised the Lagos state Governor to implement the recommendations of the Justice Doris Okuwobi panel which he set up to investigate the Lekki killings, describing the implementation of the report as the real path to peace
He also stated that he is not in conflict with the government or the police, but simply demanding for the rights of Nigerians to live with dignity
He further demanded for sincerity from the government and acceptance of the wrongs committed by its agencies
Another invitee and frontline EndSARS activist, Falz also declined the invitation describing it as a joke
In his tweet, Falz said “people were murdered in cold blood and absolutely no iota of justice has been served more than a year after. How can there be peace without justice?”
He warned the government not to attempt to sweep the issue under the carpet
