Two security personnel at the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project site have been killed by gunmen
The bandits were said to have stormed the dam site on motorcycle in large number shooting sporadically to scare the people around.
According to an eye witness,two Chinese workers at the dam site have been abducted, while one other was shot.

The incident the source added had forced people and dam workers to disperse into nearby bush for safety
Secretary to Niger State Government Ahmad Matane has confirmed the kidnapping of the Chinese workers
Ahmad Matane could not ascertain the number of people killed as well as casualties as a result of the attack by the gunmen

Meanwhile, The Police in Niger State has said that Joint Police/Military tactical teams have already launched an aggressive manhunt to rescue abducted expatriates
The Police in a statement by Police Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that the gunmen had attacked workers while working on transmission line tower along Gusase village in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State
The statement adds that Police tactical team attached to the facility engaged the gunmen in a gun duel
Four of the expatriates were rescued along with a local staff who has been taken to a health facility for attention
The statement adds that the other expatriates could not be accounted for as people dispersed into bush for safety
Also, Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has expressed concern on how bandits killed two construction workers and also abducts two Chinese Nationals despite security presence
Governor Abubakar Bello described the situation as disturbed and unfortunate as the situation might affect the pace of the construction of the Hydroelectric Power Project
The Chief Security Officer urged security agencies to redouble their efforts in ensuring successful rescue of the abducted workers
The Governor has condoled the families of workers who were killed at the scene of the incident on Tuesday afternoon
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the death eternal rest,and wish those who sustained injuries quick recovery
